DAY 01 ARRIVE AIRPORT COLOGNE, GERMANY
A warm welcome awaits you upon arrival airport by your Tour Director following by a city tour to visit among other highlights its over 800-years old Cathedral, Cologne’s mighty landmark of Gothic style. Later, transfer to your hotel for a welcome reception, dinner and for overnight. (D & OV)
DAY 02 CRUISING TO BONN AND ANDERNACH
After a tasty breakfast at your hotel the morning is at your complete disposal.– Around noon transfer to your floating hotel and leave Cologne upstream on the Rhine river by way of Germany’s former capital Bonn and on to the old fortified town of Andernach where your ship docks for the night. (OV & up to 5 meals on board)
DAY 03 TO ANDERNACH, ALONG THE LORELEY ROCK TO BOPPARD
Depart Andernach this morning and cruise along picturesque river towns, vineyards and castles atop the hills and pass the legendary Loreley Rock, where mythical sirens have lured sailors to their death on reefs below. During the afternoon your ship turns around now downstream arriving Boppard, and early Roman settlement with a remarkable Carmelite church of the 15th C. Enjoy a pleasant orientation walk with your tour Director. (OV & up to 5 meals on board)
DAY 04 THROUGH THE MOSELLE RIVER VALLEY TO COCHEM
This morning your journey continues through the dramatic Rhine Gorge and soon after enjoy a breathtaking scenery on both banks of the Moselle river, passing terraced vineyards and hilltop castles before you arrive at the idyllic town of Cochem, dominated by a magical Gothic castle. Here, you are invited for a wine tasting on one of the town’s cozy taverns. (OV & up to 5 meals on board)
DAY 05 CRUISING TO COBLENCE
A romantic scenery awaits you again this morning as you cruise along hillsides dotted with quaint villages, beautiful river side promenades and wine regions. Then arrive Coblence, located at the confluence of the Rhine and Moselle rivers with a city sightseeing of this 2.000 years old town. See its imposing Citadel of the 10th C. and its picturesque little squares and medieval half-timbered burgher houses. (OV & up to 5 meals on board)
DAY 06 CRUISING BACK TO COLOGNE
This morning your floating hotel takes you further downstream passing romantic Castle Rheineck surrounded by the “Seven Mountains”, a range of volcanic hills overlooking the Rhine and around noon time arrive back in Cologne. Disembark here and transfer to your hotel for a festive farewell dinner and overnight. (OV & up to 5 meals on board)
DAY 07 LAST DAY
Following breakfast at your hotel transfer to your departure airport for your return flight – or why not extend your stay with us!
